Remember to bring a magazine to class on Tuesday. In your orals pairs, you'll be select ingan article or advertisement that has an interesting representation of nation/race/gender/sexuality and share your analysis with the rest of the class.

sir, what if you choose an ad but you're referring to the person in the ad as a representation...not the ad but the person in the ad...can that be allowed?
sir, I'm also a bout confused about the arbitrary relationship between signifier and signified...correct me if om not mistaken..but...its arbitrary because these two don't have natural relationship with each other?
